The salmon season has just kicked off here in Norway. Historically, June 1st is a time of excitement, celebration, and incredible catches. Today, with the onslaught of the salmon farming industry, the depletion of preyfish in the ocean, and the looming threats of global warming salmon fishing has never been a more dire game to be in.
Wild salmon stocks are plummetting and something needs to be done about it. If you care about this iconic fish, we urge you to join Redd Villaksen (www.instagram.com/reddvillaksen), NASF (www.instagram.com/nasfund/) and others, who take up the battle to protect the last remaining stocks of wild salmon – in Norway and elsewhere. It is not too late – but it is urgent!
Our 2026 summer-edition features articles from near and far – from Sweden and Finland to Newfoundland and Labrador. We’d like to extend our most sincere gratitude to all the contributors; Alvaro G Santillán, Micke Lindström, Ted Logardt, Håkan Karsnäser, Rasmus Ovesen, Tarqin Millington-Drake, Martin Ejler Olsen, Matt Harris, Jeff Currier, Barry Ord Clarke, Mattéo Pergent etc…
